Are my photos or images uploaded to any cloud server?

No, never. Visual Foundry operates 100% locally on your machine. All image processing, neural upscaling, cutouts, and file saving take place directly on your computer's GPU and CPU. No images, personal data, or telemetry ever leave your system.

Does Visual Foundry require an internet connection?

No. After installation, Visual Foundry functions completely offline. An internet connection is only needed if you choose to click the one-time "Install Real-ESRGAN GPU Engine" button to download the optional offline neural model package (~55 MB). Once downloaded, all models and your license key run offline indefinitely.

How does pricing work? Is there a monthly subscription?

Can I upscale directly to 300 DPI print sizes (like 18"×24" posters or 8"×10" frames)?

Yes! Under 2. Scale Factor & Print Presets, click any of the built-in 300 DPI Print & Store Presets:

• Poster 18"×24" (5400×7200 px at 300 DPI)
• Frame 8"×10" (2400×3000 px at 300 DPI)
• A4 Print (2480×3508 px at 300 DPI)
• 4K UHD Display (3840×2160 px)
• Shopify / Etsy Square (2048×2048 px)
• IG / Social Portrait (1080×1350 px)

Will Visual Foundry overwrite my original images?

By default, no. Visual Foundry protects your original files by appending a suffix (such as _2x, _4x, or _300dpi_18x24) to each exported image. If a file with the same name already exists in the target destination, Visual Foundry automatically numbers it (e.g. photo_4x_1.png) so no work is lost.

Can I export a side-by-side Before / After image to share on social media or with clients?

Yes! In the Before / After Compare tab, click Save Split PNG in the top toolbar. Visual Foundry composites a crystal-clear side-by-side comparison card (_comparison.png) with the original on the left and the upscaled result on the right.

What are the minimum system requirements?

• Operating System: Windows 10/11 (64-bit), macOS 11+ (Intel or Apple Silicon), or modern 64-bit Linux distribution.
• Memory (RAM): 4 GB RAM minimum (8 GB+ recommended for large batches).
• GPU (Optional for AI acceleration): Any Vulkan-compatible graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce, AMD Radeon, Intel Iris/Arc, or Apple Silicon M-series). Systems without dedicated GPUs run the built-in multi-stage Sharp Lanczos3 CPU engine automatically.
